Maybe somebody knows the best settings for iTunes & in the Control Panel of Vista which might help a little bit? Or they can help me solve the problem fully? I really would be very grateful. I did the same for my iPod & the EQ was "Off" as it has always been.Ĭan anybody please help me with this problem? It is really horrible & annoying because I'd like to listen to my music through iTunes & at the moment I can't. I have checked the EQ on my iTunes & that is "Flat" as it has always been. It seems as though external power is what causes the feedback. If I use my portable, battery-powered speaker, it's also loud enough, but as soon as I plug the speaker in (via USB), there's the feedback again. It just seems to be in iTunes from what I can gather. If I use my computer speakers with the 3.5mm jack, it's definitely loud enough, but I get too much feedback (humming/buzzing). Also when playing media off the Internet, through Firefox (& probably any other browser) it all sounds perfectly fine.

The vocals of the tracks sound perfect on my iPod (therefore I know it is nothing to do with my files - most of them are 320kbps MP3 tracks aswell), it seems like it is just in iTunes.

Recently, when playing a song in iTunes (especially a heavier one like Metallica or Trivium) the vocals seem to be really quiet & sometimes you can't hear them very well, yet the actual background tune of the song seems to sound OK.

Right Click on 'Speakers & Dual Headphones' and select Properties or simply select 'Speakers & Dual. Click on Sound, it will open Sound applet. Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section but it seems to be more of an iTunes problem than a Windows Vista problem, I think. Go to Control Panel, Hardware and Sounds.
